Wrap Up
Well I must say I totally enjoyed this experience - I have learned so much by exploring these different resources - I think my biggest discovery overall is the nuances within each database - there are so many layers to discover!! I also liked blogging about these resources it was very reinforcing!! I will promote these resources in a variety of ways - 1. I will tell students and professors about them when I deliver bibliographic instruction sessions. 2. I will show students when they come to the information desk for help. 3. I will also hold a state library database training session for the librarians here at BHSU. 4. I will develop instructional videos that our distance learners can watch about these databases. 5. I will develop some instructional sheets that will be displayed in our library which students can grab and go.

History and Genealogy Resources - Ancestry Library, Heritage Quest, and Sanborn Maps
1. I found some entries when I lived in Ohio, Minnesota, and Michigan. Weird to see my old phone numbers - I could not remember them.
2. I searched for my grandfather on my mothers side - Andrew Lelvis. I did find him in the 1910 Census - he was seven years old. I really like looking at these old Census records. I did not realize he had so many siblings - and my great grandmothers name was Gustina - pretty I think.
3. Found lots of pictures from the Library of Congress Photo Collection, U.S. School Yearbooks and some from Bureau of Ships and the U.S. Family Photo Collections. There was also 85 entries from Lippincotts Gazetteer of the World. It was fun to look at some of the old photos.
4. I searched for the place Ironwood, Michigan and then looked a book called "Call it North Country: The Story of Upper Michigan." This is where I grew up so I read a few of the pages in this book. I am definitely going to have to go back and explore some more.
5. I thought the Sanborn Maps were very cumbersome to navigate. I did look at BHSU back when it was a Normal School - that was neat!

Learning Express Library
1. I had set up an account a while back - I like this site and have shared it with the classes I present to - I also shared it with our career center on campus. An amazing collection of practice tests all organized in one spot - excellent!!
2. Today I looked at the Citizenshiip Practice Test. It was fun going through the questions - although I think I need to brush up on my civics. The immediate results is a great feature of the Learning Express library.
3. Today I took a look at "Think you Know Your Vocabulary." I had no idea the Learning Express Library had all of these books - what a wonderful collection of resources.

Camio
1. Teapot, Teaspoon, and a bowl.
2. The results were very interesting. Lots of artifacts from the Sioux - for example a doll and a pouch. I clicked on several to view the large image. Had a lot of Fun!!
3. I looked up Henri Matisse and then looked at several of the images.
4. I think Camio would be useful for our art students and faculty. I think that this is a great resource. However, I wish you could zoom in ever closer than it lets you.
5. Once again very impressed with the wide variety of tools Camio has. I liked the compare feature especially.

ArchiveGrid
1. Well there was a lot of information in this paragraph. I did not know his death was related to the Ghost Dance Ritual.
2. I did a search for Holocaust and retrieved 2889 results. Found information at a lot of different places such as The New York Center for Holocaust Studies. I think this is a fine resource - one that I knew nothing about. I am going to add a link to this database from the BHSU Library Website.

WorldCat and OAIster
There are a variety of different ways to search WorldCat in the Advanced Search Tab. When I help out with interlibrary Loan I thought using the advanced search was a great help - I would typically search by ISBN or ISSN numbers.
I searched for the book Sophies Choice. I came up with 192 records - record number one had 3089 libraries attached to in including Black Hills State University. There is a lot of good information from this full record: LC and Dewey Numbers, author, descriptors, year of publication, etc.
In using the OAIster feature I looked at A Brief history of South Dakota by Doane Robinson. I was directed to the full text version of this book found at the HathiTrust Digital Library. Well I have never used this resource before - I will definitely use this in the future to access full text contact. It is true you learn something new every day!!!

NetLibrary
1. I did a Keyword Search for cookbooks and retrieved 18 results. I then did a full text search for cookbooks and retrieved 433 results while not all of them were actually cookbooks some were - I was impressed with the variety of cookbooks available. I clicked on "Cooking the Russian Way" and found an excellent recipe for beet salad - I love beets. I show every class I present to the Net Library - including the reference collection and the e-audio book collection. I also use numerous e-reference books in my online reference class I teach. I just wish the titles were a bit more current.
2. I looked at "The Complete idiots Guide to Yoga" - I think adding Yoga to a fitness routine is a great idea - and this title would give my leader some back ground information about Yoga and some beginning techniques.
3. I retrieved 88 titles published by the University of Oklahoma Press. I then reviewed the book "Nothing but Prairie and Sky - Life on the Dakota Range in the Early Days." This book is basically a memoir about life on the prairie.
